To grab a bite to eat - to have a quick snack
E.g.
A: Are we going to leave soon?
B: Just let me grab a bite to eat.
No rush - there´s no need to rush.
( sem pressa)
E.g.
A: Are we going to leave now?
B: Just let me grab a bite to eat.
B: Just let me grab a bite to eat.
Contractions
Let me = lemme (deixe-me)
E.g. Just lemme grab a bite to eat .
Going to = gonna.
E.g. Are we gonna leave soon?
Just - Jus´ ( the letter "t" is dropped).
In American spoken English, the auxiliary verbs are often dropped.
E.g. We gonna leave soon?
and not
Are we gonna leave soon?
You live here?
and not
Do you live here?
Remember that these contractions are used in Informal Spoken English and not in written form.
